Garden

They've been gardening over at Reasonable Estate and I'm jealous.

So far this summer I have killed my tomato, basil and parsley seedlings. I'm told radishes are foolproof, so I'm out to prove them wrong. I have also planted beetroot.

My garden is about 1 x 6 foot, and if you know of a good chemical that will kill cats before they crap in it, I'm all ears.

I killed a whole lot of snails with bait, and Finn asked about them. I told him they were having a nap. My mother piped up that people in France eat snails. Finn eyed them with interest.

Cayenne. Even if it doesn't work completely, the thought of it working is very satisfying indeed.

I did put a pile of that in before I planted, and some very nasty blue repellent stuff. The problem is they don't last for long. I'm thinking razor wire. Petone has a lot of cats.

Oh, and a tip. Grated citrus zest is good too. We used it on the lawn, and it worked a treat.

I was once so annoyed with the presence of multiple dog or cat turds on my front lawn, that I poured cider vinegar all over them to try to mask the smell. All I succeeded in doing was making the lawn smell pooey yet sour, and killing the grass under the turds.

killing parsley huh, oh you are truly talented. I too am having problems with basil and cats. My demonic clawed foes laugh in the face of citrus and promptly squat over something near and dear. It is times like this I am reminded of that primary school joke, 'How do you make a cat bark?'
