Made up sport

I'm enjoying the winter Olympics. I watched the team women's cross country skiing this morning, and then hunkered down to watch a bit of the men's cross country skiing. But what? They seemed to have aerials or pole holders attached to their backs. Then what? They turned out to be guns. Yes folks, it was the cross country skiing/shooting event.

Seems anything goes as far as Olympic sports. So I thought perhaps encourage a new event to play to my strengths. How about a dominoes/brownie cooking event? Or a gin and tonic/gardening duo?

Mid-life crisis over. I've found my thang.

It's just that the security budget was really tight, they encouraged the athletes to look after their own protection.

Just as well Dick Cheney wasn't participating.

drinking/blogging

drink a unit of alcohol (any type), then make a post. repeat. each turn can last no longer than 15 minutes.

the winner is the last person to post incriminating/embarrassing information about themselves.

ten spelling mistakes in one post (no spell-checkers) results in instant disqualification.

I believe I have competed in that sport.

I was watching the women's half pipe snowboarding last night. No steroids. No sports institutes. No state training programs from an early age. No odd helmets or high tech suits. No millisecond finishes. Just some young women enjoying themselves and doing cool athletic stuff. What sport should be all about.

I think that is why I'm enjoying it so much, it is so damn wholesome and inspiring. Almost makes me regret my mis-spent youth...
