- To clarify, middle age is about late 30s to about mid 80s, so please stop feeling old.
- "Why are there so many songs about rainbows?". Um, I can think of one. Please extrapolate.
- Baby is due 26th December, based on scan today. It looks cute, but at 5 cm long, I doubt it has much of a chance at the moment. Hopefully it will avoid a really terrible birthday, and be born late like its brothers.
- Work has been frenzied, and now suddenly it is calm. I think the busy times swallow my life, because I have no recollection of the past week.
- On the domestic front, we looked at underfloor insulation today. The foil is cheap, but apparently people keep getting electrocuted installing it, and since we can't get life insurance for Glen (dude is OLD), I'm not sure I want to risk it. Advice please.
- Didn't win Big Wednesday, I guess this means we're on for Lotto Saturday. If we don't get it, I don't know how I'm gonna get me an iphone.

Congrats, very exciting/scary times ahead!
We have foil under our house and it sucks. There are gaps and the wind just gets through; it might have just been badly installed (it was here when we moved in) but our floors are cold cold cold......
We just got insulation installed in the ceiling and under the floor. We used natural wool in both the ceiling and the floor, with an additional layer of foil underneath. It's made a HUGE difference, seriously.
But installing the foil yourself is a definite hazard. The pros will use plastic staples to fasten it to help prevent electrocution. Also, it's a really shitty job crawling under the house and may take a few days for Glen to do it himself. The pros should get it done in a day.

If you have an ipod, sell it now, and you'll be half way to an iphone already :) Then buy your iphone, and sell your existing cellphone immediately upon purchase - also vodafone sometimes does a phone tradein...
Polystyrene is apparently relatively easy to install - plus i like the idea of polystyrene! http://www.expol.co.nz/
yeah I was going to suggest the polystyrene option - quite cheap too and way easy to install between the floor joists (is that what they're called?)
I think the Expol is winning!
Ooo my Dad has just recommended the Expol over the foil as well - the foil just reflects heat whereas the expol traps warm air properly - hence mr reasonable's issues. Let us know what the quoted price is too, I'm curious as to how much the expol costs exactly but too lazy to get people round to quote at present :)
