Civil Union

Glen and I thought that we didn't want to be the perfect married family with 2 kids and a house in the burbs, when Pastor Tamaki hit the Wellington streets. We really don't want Pastor Tamaki's approval.

Watching Pastor Tamaki tonight on Campbell live I realised that it isn't really an issue. He'll never let me into heaven.

So I'd like to be a celebrant. Ages ago I thought of it, and now there is this whole new gay, civil union market opening up I may just have to jump on the bandwagon. If you've been reading this blog for more than 2 days though you'll realise that I'm a total schemer, and not necessarily always going to follow through with these hairbrained plans.

Not to mention that I feel like I'm about 12 years old and I'd giggle. Not cool.

Neat. I know a celebrant - she seems to have lots of fun and goes to loads of parties...FOR FREE....all she has to do is pretend to love and cherish or something like that.

You could turn up with all your mates and drink all the beer....

Sounds like a great idea!

Well I looked into it ages ago, and as far as I can tell they'll take you as long as there is nobody else in your vicinity who is kind of the same. I just need to make sure there are no other 32 year old, female, non-religious, lefty liberal celebrants around and I'll be in.

And what do you know? I've just been reading this:

You could get some tips!

I whole heartedly agree with the above - go for it. And I will use your celebrant services when ever I can.

Carlone - what an amazing site, and what a great writer she is. I hadn't even thought about funerals, but actually I think it could be amazing to share that day with people. I'm not a great fan of open caskets though.

And NYC, you should look into Petone beach as a venue. Lots of trucks to provide ambience and a howling southerly to keep things snappy.

Mike, I'd be happy to celebrant any time you needed.

Does anyone but me remember the old blind guy that used to visit schools & talk about being blind?

He hadn't always been blind & he had a poem, that he would recite every school visit.

it was called - Petone Beach...

and may possibly be used in the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Universe in the Vogon scene.

Nup sorry. We had Hone Tuwhare though, which makes me feel quite lucky.

Forms dutifully downloaded and I've contacted one person to write me a tesimonial. Just trying to think of someone else respectable. I'm quite excited, I've been farting around thinking about it for ages.

Would it be weird to marry my ex-boyfriends sister?
