Excitement in the 'burbs (without photos for now)

At the library the other day I got a book out about gardening. This is probably the most symbolic marker of my impending middle-agedness. I even read it and enjoyed it. It was by a stunning Irish bloke called Diarmuid Gavin, who I am reliably informed is quite hot. This possibly makes me more or less sad, depending which way you look at it.

Anyhow, it has lead to a radical transformation of our garden, based on.... da da da dah! Circles. It looks quite fabulous, although the lawn has the appearance of a middle aged man (ie balding) - speaking of which, I wept a little this morning when I saw the picture of David Bain. That poor young man has gone all middle aged himself, and it is just tragic.

Um, back on the subject. I decided to flog our old cobbles on Trademe, mainly so we didn't have to take them to the tip. When I got home from bowling last night they had sold for $200. This guerilla gardening pays. For days I'd been checking the auction and saying 'oooh, we're up to $37! I can't believe people would pay so much."

And this is why I love Sam Morgan. A lot.

To be honest, I haven't listened to it. I was very hungover, and kind of a bit loopy...

I'm well pleased to have my name on Public Address though.

That's the thing about TradeMe, isn't it. People paying top dollar for a load of old cobble[r]s.

diarmuid gavin is extremely deiciosly hot and irish (although i have gone off irish men since colin farrell came along and was all f****n stupid and f****n ugly bugly and f****n crap and f****n pointless in general) and he - dairmuid now - is a friggin genius that inspires even me, the most hatred filled (when it comes to green things) woman in the world. friggin genius!!

Circles in one's garden are always a good idea. I particularly like the tall thin ones made of glass that contain all sorts of alcoholic beverages.

Diarmuid Gavin or James McAvoy? Top Celtic Tottie as they say in the newspapers.

That dog, you are planning to totally paparazzi her aren't you? Flood the internet with gorgeous cute puppy photos? Witty caption prizes for your readers (special homemade dog souvenirs, fluff for the winners, puppy 'chocolates' for the losers)? And I've asked the spirits and they say her name is Dora and she will be an Explorer, of course you'll have to learn a little Spanish to speak to her in, but it'll be worth it for style points.
