Blogiversary

It isn't my 2 year blogiversary yet (although tomorrow is the Shopping Sherpa's 1st). Mine is on the 18th of March for anyone who is counting.

I was reading through some old posts, and I seemed to rant on about buying stuff more, and I for one found it hellishly entertaining. It was like re-living all those exciting purchases - a car! A coffee cart! A portable music player! A coffee grinder!

And I read that I was 32, and almost wept at the youthfulness of it all. I suppose when I'm 36 I'll be all moony about being 34. At the moment though I just feel a bit too busy, and a bit too much like I'm not partying all night long.

There is a fiesta in Petone at the moment, we strolled down earlier for a look. I was pretty put off when I heard a band sing "How will we escape when the bridges are all burning". I am not a lyric listener as a rule, and that is why, I just hate crappy lyrics. Ironically (I say "ironically" far more than is appropriate), when we walked home we went past the newly empty Petone Fire Station. Glen said if there is a disaster and the bridges over the Hutt river are damaged, no fire service will be able to get through to us. And then what will we do if all our bridges are burning?

And basically I think I should return to writing about being drunk and shopping.

Actually last Sunday was my Blogiversary - I gave everyone a week to comment to go in the draw to win the bag - and that's happening in almost exactly 12 hours...

We're counting ... it seems just weeks ago that SunnyO and I stumbled across a Martha from Petone, and now look at you, hob-nobbing with the blogging gliteratti of New Zealand ...

And don't worry about the bridge, shurely it's over a river that's full of water and water always beats fire in rock-paper-scissors-thingy.

(this comment has been brought to you by fine red wine and fantastic company ... hick)

Oops SS, sorry I never read anything properly...

And Mikey, I saw your comment had arrived at 1am and though "hmmm, bet he is drunk" - we'll see if you remember you've been!

Hey Martha

Ironically again...we were selling coffee from 7pm or so outside the now empty Petone Fire Station - thanks to having plied our new neighbour firemen with much free coffee since they moved in up here (Cnr of Bridge and Marsden Sts - still only a quick drive away, rest assured... : ) BTW did you sell your cart to a guy who then ran it in Silverstream?

Wendy

Hey Wendy, yep, that's the bloke. He seems to be selling it on Trademe again for QUITE A LOT.

Do you have a cart?

I like it when you write about being drunk, especially if I got drunk with you. But you can write about whatever you like and I'd probably still read it, unless you became a puppyeater.

Ironically (theme du jour) I was thinking about writing poorly about getting laid, cricket and bitching about how inadequate other women are. I guess you wouldn't like that?

Joanna said...

Martha, with the exception of the cricket, it sounds like my journal entries.

There is a big difference between writing about cricket and not writing about cricket. You don't cross that line.

Howdy - yep, we have the espresso rescue caravan (parked in Marsden St while resting... www.espressorescue.co.nz) but will be leasing that guy's (your!)cart through Ripe a bit over the next few weeks for big and busy events like RTB. Good fun. Come and get your free fellow espresso maker and v funny blogger coffee if you see us parked up! : )

I had a look at your site - what a fabulous caravan. I will definitely say hello if I see you about.

I'm pleased our cart is seeing the world - it barely left our backyard, and while we loved that, it had a lot more potential. We would have been a bit more game if it was more portable.
