Whew.

A crazy, crazy week.

I've leased a shop. It is on Jackson St, and we're gonna get in there in TWO WEEKS. I can't believe it, it has all happened very quickly - from seeing the shop on Tuesday, to signing the papers today.

It will be called "Babylicious", and that is all I know. I'm vaguely thinking it will be white and gorgeous.

Now, I just need shop fittings, stock, staff, childcare...

wowee! congratulations! Is jackson street in petone?

If you need any retail advice I have years of experience. Remember bumping into me at glassons 8 years ago?

Congratulations!

Jackson Street is looking good at the moment....great to have another quality retailer to continue to lift the tone.

Staff...hmmmm....we had a workshop and shop on J. St a few years ago and we had quite good luck getting part time retail staff through Weltech.
Shop fittings from Trademe maybe?

Of course by the time I've posted this you would have worked everything out anyway......no flies on you Ms Harland.

Best of luck!

A Martha shop?!?! An ACTUAL Martha shop? I thought we were just dreaming?

Very exciting :)

Yay!

Rosie, thanks! I'm dying to share your plans with the world, but should probably save some surprises eh?

Anne, any local advice VERY WELCOME. It has been a few years since my last foray into retail.

Nikki, to be honest, I'm such a gambler that I usually do take a punt on my dreams, hence a long list of crazies incl. coffee cart and mini...

I am more than in awe of your "do it" attitude and more importantly how it translates into actual behaviour - bloody marvellous (to be said in a true Campbell voice).

Can't wait to come and buy stuff (maybe even pants)

Great news! Well done you. That's quite an achievement already.

Good luck for the next few weeks, although I suspect you'll be absolutely fine. Looking forward to pics of the launch party.

Yee haa - I have only two things to say; "Well done Martha on your great leap forward," and "hmmm - my advocado needs a little more salt".

Hmm, I think that's the perfect excuse to pop across to Sydney for a day or two with no luggage and do a rampage through IKEA buying Expedit bookcases and other yummy things to use in the shop...

Haven't been on your blog in a very long time! You may not remember me, but I'm the Petone chick that had a blog called Wellywood Witch. Stopped that blog site, but I do have another blog site but only I have access to it.

Currently I am working at the WelTec Petone Campus, not my dream job, but will do for now.

Wow! Fantastic news about you leasing a shop on Jackson Street! Where about is that shop on Jackson Street?

Best wishes,
Resh.
