Courtesy of my Unky PaulAt Waitarere beach. The horror!
Ia! Mwnglui R'lyeh Cthulhu ftaghn!Poor old barnacles. What a way to go.
Mmm, we were pretty horrified by it. I've never seen anything like it. My son has a book with them in now, so we found out it wasn't from Mars.
But what were the barnacles on? It looks like a whale or a walrus. It is horrible.
I think it was just a log. We don't get too many walrus' around these parts
I took lots of photos of a half buried dead pig on my Mother's camera at waitarere once. It caused quite a commotion at the bridge club when she developed the film some months later.
We got some great photos of a similar but smaller eco-system on one of our recent 4WD down 90 mile beach. very alien.
