Bollywood dancing

I've had a million dollar idea, and you're not allowed to tell.

Wouldn't it be fantastic fun to go to Bollywood dance classes? I'm not sure there are any running in this neck of the woods, and I can see masses of potential for a franchise operation running them all over the world.

But lets just start here. Anyone keen? Think Basement Jaxx 'Romeo' video - funky Indian dancing with a line dance twist.

I'm a sucker for group dancing. You can keep your interpretive, tricky dicky Limbs dancing. Give me pink saris and jumping men any day.

Watch this space.

I know! I've just googled Bollywood dancing and there doesn't seem to be anything around here.

Now I have a couple of problems. I can't dance to save myself, and don't really know anyone who can.

Imagine if it got going though. I could get Creative NZ funding to go research it in Mumbai. Few months should be about right.

Umm that all sounds great but I think the hiphop tours fiasco may make the Mumbai funding application a spot troublesome...

I am sure there are people around Wellytown who could help you out. I remember there being some sort of cultural festival in Cuba Street, maybe three years ago, and there was Bollywood dancing happening there. Find a Divali celebration, ask at your Indian takeaway, ask at your Indian video shop, be cheeky and email Rebecca Singh (lovely but shortlived Nightline face, who videos Indian weddings for a living now), ask these guys http://mudra.co.nz/vivek.html...

Did you see 'The Guru' last night?

Barry you are a veritable font of information, and I'll surely look into it now. I've asked a few friends what they think and they're keen as mustard.

And Brena, you're right. But who cares what the naysayers say. I believe my cause is worthy and India is much cheaper than the US.

And Jessie, I saw the Guru a couple of years ago I think. It was lovely really - just wandered into the Lighthouse here in Petone one morning with Finn and watched the first movie available.

And I went to India about 10 years ago and got a Bollywood flick video and have loved the whole dance scenario since.

Hey!

Hehe my dad recorded the Guru but I haven't yet had time to watch it.

And consiering I am Indian (for those of you who didn't know...I'm known by Pink Flamingo or Reshma on some other sites - Which is my real name) I may have contacts to some Bollywood dancing classes...

Dad always buys Indian movies....I myself couldn't dance, even if my life depended on it! But I enjoy watching some indian movies..Great to be able to see Bollywood Films as well as your normal Hollywood Films....

Well Reshma, we may have a new job for you coordinating these classes...

So that's what happened to Rebecca Singh. She's HOT! (although, I understand, not inclined to my sort) Still the best newsreader TV3 has had in that slot. And one of the few that hasn't looked computer generated.

So yeah, be cheeky & email her.

Your sort being male? Married? Something I don't know?

All of the above probably. Not to mention too old, fat & ugly for her.

Actually, she was on last night, reporting something. I thought they should have left her with the plum newsreaders job, she's the best they've had in years.

Martha - There's no way i'm coordinating those classes for you!! What on earth do I know about dancing?? :P

To help out with explaining why Rebecca Singh would not be inclined to Ilew's sort, it is worth knowing that she left Nightline to join Queer Nation, where she promptly started a relationship with a female co-host.

I totally agree in terms of her being the best Nightline presenter ever, and being totally HOT (and having a wonderfully deep and incredibly sexy voice). I've been stal, er, watching her career with interest for ages.

and a sly way of smiling as she delivered the news... wonder if her co host is hot too?

Stuff what people say about Rebecca Singh, I like she is great and looks hot to me....
