Young Malo's sweat test came back at 25. This is a lovely number that indicates that he is within normal range.
So no Cystic Fibrosis today.
No answer as to why he coughs all day, but I can deal with that!

Good news! Our son had a cough like that - used to drive us totally mental - did it for years. The doctor used to throw everything at him but it only slowed it down a bit. Then when he got to about 10 or 11 he just stopped coughing...
Great news. Ms R got a cough when we used to run the dehumidifier a lot which stopped once we got the heat pumps. No idea if the two were related but...
Late to the party but... having discussed it with Becky we were wondering if the cough might be the result of hayfever? When Bella was younger she used to cough a lot too - eventually we figured out it might have been a post-nasal drip irritating the back of the throat, causing coughing. Certainly once she was on the Claratyne she stopped coughing...
Ooh, feel a bit guilty about typing rude words into your search engine when you're at the very same minute being helpful.
I will certainly check that out as an option. We have a barium xray coming up soon to check out his oesophagus for reflux. I suspect that may be the culprit. He has had the cough since birth, and Finn had bad reflux, and also Glen coughs all the time, and his specialist thought that may be reflux too.
I'll ask the paediatrician about hayfever though, you never know. I guess I should also check out lactose intolerance while I'm at it.

Thanks Jo. I've learned a lot about CF since we got Malo's positive test last year, and I imagine it is a pretty unpleasant burdon.
Congratulations on that wonderful news. Must have been a long wait.
Maybe he should give up smoking?
The next thing the paed is gonna try is nicorette.

Thanks for thinking of us.
