Google ads

I'm dying to know how much the Google ads pay. Feel free to tell me your darkest secrets regarding income anytime.

I am wondering if Google might rank one higher if one is advertising their product? Or is that a little too conspiracy theoryisty.

They paid me ... $0
Hence why I've removed them - no one comes to my blog looking for adverts!

I can't imagine they would pay much because people have to click on them before you get paid anything and who does that from reading a personal blog? Though actually I don't click on adverts at all.

I've got Google ads on noizyland, and, on a good month, get between $15 and $30. Usually it takes me about 6-8 months to get to the US$100 threshold for a payment, but it always comes as a very pleasant surprise when I do get one. Nearly covers my hosting costs. (This from 300-500 unique visitors a day, depending on the day).

Hey well done. That is heaps of visits. I can't see any point in putting them on my site at that rate - it would take about 7 years to get to $100.

indeed, which is why I likewise don't bother with ads on wellingtonista, and never had them on bizgirl.

I think if you've got a reasonably large traffic site with a well-targetted audience (eg. people looking for music info as on noizyland), then it's nearly worthwhile.

For lower traffic site, like you say, it'll take forever to get thing to make any money for you.

Yeah, I'm in no hurry for them. Just being a nosey-parker really.

And I do wonder if Google takes whether you have their ads into account in its search rankings.
