Beehive cake

Beehive cake

Malo's birthday cake this year reflects the fact his birthday fell on election day.

Bit of a wobbly cake, but still tasty.

Aww what a neat cake. Must have taken you forever to make! I have never baked a cake in my life. The closest I came to baking a cake would be making some muffins. (Cakes/muffins - Practically the samething). The muffins didn't turn out right, so I gave up on it altogether - I figured, cooking just ain't my fortay!

Thank you, I enjoy a bit of the ol' cake decorating once or twice a year. I tried to influence voters a tiny bit too by not including any blue. Not that there is much blue food around anyway.

I should mention that the Beehive was a fruit and nut cake. I felt this appropriate.

ha ha, fruit and nut, that's great. Just wondering if Malo asked for a parliament shaped cake? Hmm I spose he is young enough that you can live out your cake fantasies through him, but soon you'll have to start making allblacks cakes or if he's rebellious a Don Brash cake.
