Thunderbird is not go

I decided to give Thunderbird a run, and I like the look of it, but I've hit a fairly big hurdle that I can't seem to knock off.

The first time I tried to check my mail, it prompted me for my password. Since I use the same one for everything, I merrily plugged it in, and accepted my computers kind prompt to remember it for me. However, it seems I punched in the wrong password, and now Paradise declines Thunderbirds permission for access.

I have tried re-installing Thunderbird. I can't change my password with Paradise to the one I put in, as the one I put in wasn't alphanumeric. I can't seem to access password manager. I've been thwarted. No doubt all youse clever peeps will know a way out.

Gin and tonic for whoever solves it.

I've tried everything in the account settings, and can't find the password anywhere, nor does it work if I try to reset the whole account.

The Bat looks like it costs money, and I like my software free!

You should delete your entire Thunderbird profile folder - it's somewhere in your "Documents and Settings" folder. This stuff isn't deleted when you uninstall Thunderbird, so when you reinstall t'bird your bad settings return zombie-like...

Cool Brena, that seems to have worked a treat. It'll have to be a virtual G&T, unless you're back in Wellington soon.

THanks Alan, we tried that, but I think all we achieved was deleting our shortcut.

You're welcome!

About the G&T - Maybe I could get depressed and suicidal virtually...

Oh, perhaps a latte then?

I'm loving Thunderbird. I believe you recommended it in the first place eh?

Yes it was me (flicks hair, head expands to new hugeness). Glad you like it.

Did you get the latest official version 1.5? Was just released the other day and is quite improved over the 1.5 betas - It just installs over the top and retains your settings. Yum.

Just kidding about the G&T. Yes a virtual latte is wonderful. Thanks I can smell it coming in my email.

Word Verification: yvcos - Why because in russian engrish...

I did get the new version, and without knowing anything about the previous ones, I love it. It is so goodlooking and smooth.

Bugger. Now I need a coffee. It is nice having a lovely new grinder, but we seem to run out of beans a lot more quickly.

Word verification thnuul, because that is the planet I came from.
