Fiji...

As happens this time every year I'm sitting on the computer trying to book a tropical holiday. The only time I've even vaguely made it is 7 years or so ago when I went to Thailand. And that isn't what I'm talking about really. I'm thinking of a Pacific tropical holiday.

It is never simple though. In this case it seemed so outlandishly reasonable that there was no good reason not to book this very minute. Except it was priced from Auckland, and from Welly is another $700. Buggeur.

Great idea! We're also been thinking along these lines for a few weeks now. Where is a nice tropical island resort place?

Well Air New Zealand seems to have some good packages to Fiji at the moment, and I've heard only good things about it.

I'm quite keen on Vanuatu too, as some friends have just moved there.

Thanks!

If you're lucky you might find a dent and some ciggie ash on the ground under a coconut palm!

I hope you do go. I have these plans all the time, but they don't come to fruition as much as I'd like.

Champagne tastes on a lindauer budget.

The Air NZ sale period is only until 24th June, if that spurs you on! Of course, it is always worth avoiding the school holiday period too...

I would so love a tropical holiday with my darling. Hmmmmmm, under a palm tree with a pina colada .... in a pool with a G&T ...... in a lagoon with a marguerita ..... Oh yes it so works for me.

Just my opinion said...

I can pay less than 100 quid and go to Tenerife or the South Coast of France :) Things cost too much in NZ for that kind of luxury :(

Yep, tiny population, crappy exchange rate and about a million miles of ocean aren't great for travel.

At least it is nice here.

Ooh... I'll remember that - we went to Castaway Island & couldn't get any pot for love nor money.

I honeymooned on Beachcomber Island but that was a bit of a joke as it is really a singles island...we weren't to know...

I went to Fiji pretty recently. We went from Wellington and returned to Palmerston North because it was cheaper. We like The Fijian for its child-friendliness and gorgeous beach but both times we've been Iris has got conjunctivitis so we like it for it's pleasant doctor as well.
