Jacuzzi and a pool boy please

I'm trying to book our accomodation for our christmas holiday. Booking 10 nights away seemed exciting and liberating and all that. However now I am faced with the challenge of booking a sketchy trip which looks a little like:

24th - catch the ferry. Drive as far as we can before the kids drive us insane and we give up for the night (probably about Blenheim). Maybe drug them and get the whole way to Christchurch, otherwise Christmas may be shared with the whales.

25/26/27 ? - Christchurch? Somewhere sunny and more or less free?

26/27? - Greymouth. We're visiting relatives there. How come motels cost $130 in GREYMOUTH.

Hmmm 28ish til 3rd - Vaguely meeting friends and family in the Catlins... Have to drive with kids... May need to stop at Moeraki, Oamaru and Dunedin on the way to cope (like our campervan trip). Leaves half a day to say hello to the Catlins before starting the trip home.

Clear as mud eh?

And I like a housesitter too. So if you're nice and not into the upside down b, how about a house swap?

Comment spam ahoy! (For anyone reading this after Martha's deleted it, it was before this comment.)

You think you've got it tough? We're planning to drive to Central Otago with the kids IN ONE DAY! Yes. We. Are. Insane. Either the 3am Bluebridge or maybe the 8am rail ferry, then drive until the screaming stops. About 12 hours later.

We do have grandparents at the end of the line though. Which will assist.

You should go stay in Akaroa for those x-mas days, it is very sunny and beautifull and only an hour or something from ch ch. And it's best feature? It's not christchurch!

Hmmn seems a little double dutch, why not drive from the ferry through to two head Blenhiem and drive on through Nelson to greymouth and stay or in Hokitika(much nicer) then over the pass to CHCH and down the coast down south. Either that or you are almost doubling back on yourself. If greymouth is too far, then there is a camping ground at Murchison. Basic but who cares.

There is a YHA in the heart in CHCH and they did have a family unit I am not sure on price but it was clean and good. Or Medowpark on Cranford have some reasonble priced family units.

Thanks! Although we do need to be in Christchurch for xmas, hence the problem. Greymouth is also a family obligation. I'm gonna see what I can negotiate though!

I too have heard that Greymouth accommodation is pricey - apparently because it gets lots of summer visitors. Bizarre but true. Maybe all the motels have scrummy jacuzzis and steaming poolboys.

Hm. Maybe that should be the other way round...

Hi Martha, I came across your site while doing a search on singers, popular female sigers, dancers, actresses and models. Though you don't have exactly what I was searching for it still provided quite an interested read. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hmm, wonder what the other keywords were in 'sexy celevrities' seaerch was ... oh, don't tell me that was comment spam - boring!

Hey, fancy a catchup when you're in Christchurch? If you've time of course as you're not here for too long.

The sexy celebrities thing is interesting. Not just run of the mill comment spam, since it referred to Martha by name. But still clearly advertising their own site. Sounds like an example of viral advertising. Apparently there has been a bit of this overseas, with a detergent (?) advertising company getting in to some trouble when their fictional character went around posting comments in to blogs... including comments that were inappropriate in context.
