Who are the people in your neighbourhood?

In your neighbourhood, in your neigh-bour-hood
Oh who are the people in your neighbourhood,
They're the people that you meet when you're walking down the street
They're the people that you meet each day.

We've got Count Homogenised, Moira from Shorties and an Allblack.

You?

We've got Hot Jessica, Earthquake Commission Man Neville, Curmudgeonly Colin, A Bresolin, a daughter of the Acland family, Vicki & Seton the vets, about a dozen doctors of various descriptions, tons of student flats and quite possibly, the Czech Ambassador (unsure if it's him, or lowly embassy staff - in fact, now I think of it I've only seen women there, so maybe he, is a she.)

There is also Team Landlord, who all hang out in orange overalls & know everything that goes on in the street.

Who's the Petone All Black?

Ours are all insignificant compared to the Crack House over the road. In the last six months, we have had to call the police, the ambulance AND the fire service! Yes the trifecta of emergency services. All to boozed up, glass smashing, stabbing domestic rows. Still it keeps life interesting.

The All Black is Rodney Soi'alo (shameful spelling, and too lazy to look it up)

Oh, we had Teina Stace's parents down the road while she was still with Jonah.

a nice balance of crack houses and yuppies.

sirens and strollers.

Oy Vey, by any chance do you live in Petone too? Although we don't have crack, NZ specialises in P.

I've moved into the place my brother is looking after in Aro Valley. So I guess that would make Stephen my neighbour!

I'm sure we had the oldest hooker in Wellington living in my old building. She was scary.

A Meth junkie with a 3 week old baby and two of the most potty mouth children you are likely to hear, A Samoan Church that sings morning noon and night, boy racer hovel around the corner(lots of doosh doosh and buring rubber) But above it all is a fantastic European Butcher.

Jo, that is very odd, because I had a dream about you a few nights ago. Buggered if I can remember what is was about, but I have a feeling we were part of a gang of superheroes.

And Ms Goddess, we have quite a lot of the doosh doosh cars too. I've even called the police on them, stupid little pricks.

We are surrounded by new New Zealanders. It makes for very interesting eavesdropping over the fence (fence-dropping maybe?). I often say that we are half way between curry and kimchi.

Peter McLeavey and the Prime Minister. Thorndon's a little light on hookers and P-ho's, and direct sunlight for that matter.

You're in good company then. Apart from the sun. When are you going to move to Petone for gods sake?

His Excellency The Iranian Ambassador to New Zealand. Not sure if that makes us safer (from the police presence) or a target.....oh, and a crazy Doctor who mutters....

When I was trying to find a picture of Count HOmogenised, I came across the Insiders info. Naturally now I'll imagine they're a real life couple in Petone together...

And Mr Reasonable, I don't know if the Iranian ambassador would be a risk? Only the americans are likely to try and top him, and it seems a little distant...

And Ben, now I have a gorgeous image of your missus humming.
